Mobile Deposit® - Depositing Checks with the BBVA Mobile App

Mobile Check Deposit allows you to quickly and easily deposit checks with your mobile phone. You don't even have to leave your house.* Available for iPhone® and Android™
Securely deposit a check directly into your account in 4 easy steps:

  • Sign in to the BBVA Mobile Banking App
  • Tap the three lines in the upper right hand corner and select 'Deposit Checks' from the Main Menu
  • Follow the instructions on how to enter deposit information and how to take a picture of the front and back of your check.
  • You may also deposit multiple checks in a single deposit session, just as if you were at an ATM. Simply take a photo of the front and back of each check as instructed.

Mobile Banking Alerts

Real-time banking alerts mean that when we know, you know.

  • Account Balance - Notifies you when your account balance goes over or under the amount you've chosen.
  • Withdrawal Confirmation - Notifies you when a single withdrawal (Cash or Debit) is equal to or greater than the amount you've chosen.
  • Deposit Confirmation - Notifies you when a deposit is equal to or greater than the amount you've chosen.
  • CD Redemption - Notifies you when your CD is redeemed.

Account management alerts

Set periodic alerts to keep track of important regular and irregular account activity.

  • Account Summary - Notifies you daily and/or at month-end of your posted and available account balance.
  • Check Cleared - Notifies you of each check that clears your account.
  • CD Maturity Date - Notifies you that the CD will mature in 10 to 14 days.
  • Sensitive Activity - Notifies you that a new debit card or checks have been requested or that the account has been closed. This alert will not be sent for a debit card or checks requested at account opening.
  • Overdraft Protection Notice - Notifies you of all overdraft protection line of credit advances or only advances exceeding the amount you've chosen.
  • Insufficient Funds - Notifies you when the available balance in your account has become negative. This alert will also notify you that one or more items have presented against insufficient available funds in your account. Receiving this alert does not mean that any particular item has been paid.

Credit card alerts

Customize alerts so you can easily keep up with credit card account balances and payment due dates.

  • Near Credit Limit - Determine what "near" credit card limit means to you. Receive a notification when you reach this amount, and stay in control of spending.
  • Credit Limit Reached - Notifies you when you have reached your credit limited.
  • Payment Reminder - Determine the number of days prior to your payment due date to receive a notification. Set up this alert as a reminder to help you pay credit card bills on time.
  • Account Balance - Notifies you when your credit card account balance is greater than a determined amount.
  • Daily Account Balance - Notifies you of your daily credit card account balance.

Daily alerts

Stay on top of your accounts without logging in to Online or Mobile Banking.
Daily Activity Notices - Notifies you once daily if the dollar amount or number of transactions exceeds the threshold you've chosen. Daily Activity Notice alerts can be set to monitor the following:

  • Withdrawals
  • Deposits
  • CD Deposits

How to activate your alerts

  • Once signed into Mobile Banking tap on the main menu in the upper right hand corner and select Alerts.
  • Choose the account for which you wish to add, delete, or modify alerts.
  • Choose the alert notifications in which you would like to enroll.
  • Choose the preferred delivery option of the alerts set for that account. You may have alerts delivered to up to two email addresses and push notifications
  • Submit the changes made.

How To Get Started With Mobile Banking

To take advantage of the BBVA Mobile Banking App you need to be a BBVA customer. If you’re not a BBVA customer, we make it easy to find the right checking account for you.
Download the app for your smartphone or tablet from the App Store (available on iOS and Android devices).
Activate your app. You will need to enroll in Online Banking–it's easy to do.
To utilize your new Mobile Banking features, all you have to do is log in using your app.

What happens if I switch my mobile device?

Switching Devices: If you purchased a new mobile device, simply use your username and password after you have downloaded the appropriate app.
Switching Numbers: If you have a new mobile number, simply use your username and password after you have downloaded the appropriate app and then update your mobile number in the Settings section of the App.

Can I add a second phone number to my BBVA Mobile Banking service?

Yes. BBVA Mobile Banking® allows you to add one primary mobile number and one alternate mobile number.

Can I use Mobile Banking while signed into Online Banking?

Yes, you can use Mobile Banking while you're signed in to Online Banking.

I've lost my mobile device. What should I do?

You should remove the mobile number from your Online Banking profile immediately. Sign in to Online Banking, go to the "Service Center" and select "Add or Change Mobile Phone Number" in the Online Banking Profile section. You can add your mobile number back to your profile when you're ready to use Mobile Banking again. You may also want to contact your wireless carrier so your phone can be deactivated and protected from unwanted charges.

What are the cutoff times for making transfers?

Transfers Within Bank: A transfer request received before 11:00 PM CT on a business day is processed the same day. A transfer request received after 11:00 PM CT or on weekends or holidays will be processed no later than the next business day.
Fast Payments to Credit Card Accounts: Fast Payments are immediately debited from your BBVA payment account and reflected in your Available Credit. For payments submitted after the cutoff time of 5:00 PM CT on a business day, the credit will still reflect in the Available Credit immediately, but payment will process the next business day.
Standard Payments to Credit Card Accounts: Your payment will be applied to your account on the date selected if it is made before the cutoff time of 5:00 PM CT on a business day. Payments made after 5:00 PM CT or on a non-business day will be submitted for processing the next business day. Effective date of payment will be no earlier than the date submitted. Payments scheduled after the Payment Due Date may result in interest, late fees, and the loss of any grace period.
Transfers to External Accounts (ACH): A transfer request received before 4:30 PM CT on a business day will be processed that day. Requests received after 4:30 PM CT on a business day or on weekends or holidays will be processed the next business day.
Transfers to External Accounts (Wires): A wire transfer request must be received between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM CT on a business day and will generally be processed that day. The service is unavailable outside of this time frame.

Can I set up recurring transfers from my mobile device?

No, you can only make single, one-time transfers using BBVA Mobile Banking®. Recurring transfers must be set up in Online Banking.

Can I view my mobile transfers after they've been submitted?

Yes, you can view pending and posted transfers by selecting "View Transaction Activity" from the "Payments & Transfers screen."

How do I set up Fingerprint Authentication for Mobile Banking?

First set up Fingerprints in the Settings menu of your Android device. Once Fingerprints are set up, sign into the BBVA Mobile Banking app. Select Security Settings from the Main Menu, located in the top right corner of the screen. Locate the Enable Fingerprint Authentication selection and tap the toggle button to the ON position. You will be prompted to enter a One-Time Security Code which you will either receive by e-mail or text message, depending on your previous preferences. Enter the correct One-Time Security Code in the required field to enable this feature. The next time you want to sign into Mobile Banking using Fingerprint Authentication, tap the fingerprint icon next to the Password field. When the popover appears, place your finger on the Fingerprint sensor on your device. Once your fingerprint has been successfully read, you will be signed into BBVA Mobile Banking.

How do I set up Face ID for the BBVA Mobile Banking APP?

First set up Face ID in the Settings menu of your iOS device (e.g.iPhone). Once Face ID is set up, sign into the BBVA Mobile Banking app. Select Security Settings from the Main Menu located in the top right corner of the screen. Locate the Enable Face ID selection and tap the toggle button to the ON position. You will be prompted to enter a One-Time Security Code which you will either receive by e-mail or text message, depending on your previous preferences. Enter the correct One-Time Security Code in the required field to enable this feature. The next time you want to sign into BBVA Mobile Banking using Face ID, tap the Face ID icon next to the Password field. When the popover appears, position your face inside the sensor on your device.
